The Cinema Studies Major at the University of Oregon is distinctive in the Northwest because of the breadth of its offerings, its integration of critical study and creative production and its strength in global cinemas. Because cinema is inherently multidisciplinary, the major spans the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Architecture and Allied Arts and the School of Journalism and Communication. The Bachelor of Arts in Cinema Studies provides its graduates with a sound foundation for entering their chosen media professions or continuing their education in graduate school.
Multimedia Design at Lane is a diverse and challenging program. Through a combination of audio engineering, video production, computer technology, studio arts and theory our students receive a well-rounded introduction to the various aspects of multimedia. We train our students on the most current technology being used today and we require that our students complete two internships during the course of their study. When our graduates enter the work force they do so with a competitive edge and a strong portfolio.
As informed citizens, we carry a responsibility for community leadership. We advocate aggressively for environmental sanity, government accountability, sustainable economics, social justice, cultural diversity, tolerance, and the lively, free interchange of ideas and opinions. We also seek to provide employment, training and a supportive work environment for Eugene’s most creative writers, artists, photographers, graphic designers, salespeople, office workers and managers.

Cinema Pacific is an annual film festival based at the University of Oregon in Eugene that is devoted to discovering and fostering the creativity of international films and new media from Pacific-bordering countries, including the U.S. Through onsite and online presentations, the festival connects stimulating artists and ideas with a diverse public, furthering our understanding of world cultures and contemporary issues.

Started in 2006 by artists, educators, and activists, DisOrient is a grassroots and volunteer-run film festival committed to presenting honest portrayals of the diversity of the Asian and Pacific Islander American experience. DisOrient is a program of the Chinese American Benevolent Association (CABA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit cultural arts organization that also runs a youth group (Chinese Lion Dance Troupe), which is comprised of middle school, high school, and college age students. CABA also offers college scholarships for local Asian American youth and aspiring filmmakers.
KLCC is a public radio station licensed to Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. With 81,000 watts of power, KLCC 89.7 FM is the most powerful public radio signal in Oregon. The station serves more than 80,000 listeners each week within a 100 mile radius of Eugene. Besides our main transmitter in Eugene, we have translators in four communities throughout Western and Central Oregon (Cottage Grove, Oakridge, Riddle and Sisters), and five sister stations — KLBR in Bend, KLFO in Florence, KLCO in Newport, KLFR in Reedsport, and KMPQ in Roseburg — all broadcasting KLCC programming.

Our mission is to promote the development of the film, video, and multimedia industry in Oregon and to enhance the industry’s revenues, profile, and reputation within Oregon and among the industry internationally.
The City of Eugene is rich in arts and culture. Downtown has an active arts and business community that participates and contributes to events and activities. The Hult Center for the Performing Arts is a cornerstone in downtown Eugene’s emerging and vibrant arts and culture district. The Hult Center is home to six Resident Companies, a Broadway presenter, local dance groups, and touring shows featuring comedy, rock, blues and family events that fill the Silva Concert Hall and Soreng Theater throughout the year.
OMPA is the largest nonprofit association for commercial, film and TV professionals in Oregon, uniting crew, talent agencies, producers, directors and others who cater to the industry. Since our founding in 1982, OMPA has educated and informed a diverse membership about important industry news, provided forums for networking and professional development, and advocated and actively participated in business growth and job creation.
Known now as “A3″, the Academy of Arts and Academics is a magnet/alternative four-year high school that offers opportunities for students to experience quality instruction, high expectations for personal achievement, and a real community in which to learn and grow. A3 features a strong academic program as well as a focus on visual and performing arts. Located in the heart of Springfield, A3 enjoys partnerships with existing cultural organizations and students have access to the resources of the Wildish Community Theatre, the Emerald Arts Gallery, and the Willamalane Memorial Building.
